Our New Addition!

Grant and I have been talking about getting a puppy but it just never seemed to be quite the right time. Even so, I kept watching the papers and websites just in case ;) I'd seen a few but we decided we shouldn't go look... and then one day Grant said if we see another one we might as well look. So, just after I had gotten done telling my sister that we were NEVER going to find either a springer or golden retriever puppy now that we decided we could adopt one, I got an email saying that the Morrison County Humane Society had a couple springer/lab female pups! Ohhh how exciting! So, we went to look! And this is who we found:

A cute lil fiesty puppy named 'Bailey' who really wanted a home! Actually all those poor animals at that place wanted a home :( poor buddies - I was going to take them all with us.


She had a sister too but I thought this little one was more of a snuggler when you held her and calmed down a little more. So, she was 'the one!' How could we not take her home?? We didn't actually have anything prepared for her at home yet and it was later in the evening by that time so we decided to put a hold on her and pick her up the next day: Wednesday, January 25th!

Here's our little pup when I brought her home on 1.25.12 (they told us she was about 9 weeks at that time but then they said her birthday was 11.4.11 which would make her 11 weeks BUT THEN when she was spayed they said she was 12 weeks on Feb 7 which would make her birthday a week later than they said lol - I don't think they actually know but we're going to say her birthday is 11.14.11 making her 10 weeks when we brought her home).

So sleepy ...


Helping in the shop. She learned to use her doggy door the first night so since then she sleeps in the warm garage and can go outside to her kennel to potty. TMI I know ;) When we're home she gets to play in the house though :)


We knew we didn't want her to be named Bailey when we took her home but didn't have a name at first because we couldn't decide. Then, after she was home with us we decided it would be Ms. Leidy Mountain Schnell ;) Named after a mountain near where we lived in Wyoming! You can just call her Leidy (pronounced lie-dee). Here's the actual mountain and the view of the Tetons we love from the top :) Someday she'll have to hike to the top of it with us!
