Castles!

We booked our tickets on the Romantic Road bus to go from Munich, Germany to Fussen, Germany! Once we get to Fussen we'll check out Neuschwanstein Castle and possibly Hohenschwangau Castle. We'll stay two nights in Fussen at the House LA City Hostel. Next we have to figure out how we're going to navigate the trains to get from Fussen, Germany to Interlaken, Switzerland. Should be interesting ;)

The Grand Teton

While we plan our trip to Germany and Switzerland we are also planning a trip to climb the Grand Teton in Wyoming. They tell me the climb is only rated a 5.4 which should be pretty easy but I think when it's 13,000ft in the air you have to multiply the rating by 100 which would mean it's very difficult ;) Apparently the two hardest parts are 'the belly roll' and 'the crawl' so let's hope I make it past that!

Grant's pack

Today we were in Maple Grove for a Hinnenkamp family gathering for Heather, Darrell and Gramma Rosie's 30, 50, and 80th birthdays. After we checked out of the hotel this morning we stopped at REI so Grant could try on some packs. A worker guy loaded some of them with some pillows that apparently added up to 15lbs and then Grant tried them on and found one he liked. Now we both have our packs for the trip! We're definitely going to have to pack light because they are both about 4,000 cubic inches which isn't that big for two weeks. But we don't want to have to lug around huge backpacks when we're walking around! And I'll have to make sure to leave a little extra room in case we find some souvenirs to bring back :)

We're going to Germany and Switzerland!

Woo hoo we're going to Europe! Back in August 2008, Grant and I booked our flight into Munich Germany!! Just yesterday we purchased our rail passes and we have our hostel booked for our first night. We're still working on our tentative timeline but will spend a few nights in Germany and then make our way to Switzerland where we'll spend the majority of our two weeks. We can't wait!!
